Sometimes a caricature drawn years ago ends up forgotten in a folder, a drawer, or on the shelves of an archive. Yet those lines still have a story to tell.
After the passing of caricaturist Nezih Danyal, thousands of caricatures remained with his family. For many years these works stayed in the archive. His son, Devrim Danyal, started a project with a simple idea: to bring these drawings back into the light and into people’s homes.
From this idea, the Karikatural platform was created.
Its goal is simple: to take caricatures out of the archives and bring them back to life.
On the platform:
• Caricatures from archives are exhibited and offered for sale with the artist’s permission.
• Royalty payments are made to the artists for works that are sold.
• Cartoonists can also join the platform with their recent works.
• The caricatures are presented not only in Turkey but to an international audience.
